| CARE’s Recovery Ratings capture the extent of expected recoveries on Security Receipts (SRs) issued by Asset Reconstruction Companies. Recoveries on SRs would largely depend on specific parameters related to the underlying non-performing asset. Recovery rating is based on the ‘recovery risk (probability of recovery)’ and not the ‘default risk (probability of default)’. The value of the underlying security and its recoverability is of prime importance in recovery rating. CARE takes into consideration various qualitative as well quantitative parameters while assigning the recovery rating.
